Do you mostly hunt out of ground blinds? Don't know if your talking to me or Pinger, but no this is the first year. Got a couple hot spots where you can't put a stand and I got tired of limiting my options. Hope it goes well, definitely weird shooting out of them lol.

Set up on the edge of a cornfield overlooking alfalfa plot. Cameras aren't showing any deer movement so throwing up a hail marry tonight. Hope it pays off How did it go Pinger?

Stage is set for me now. Finished the last of my work today. All that's left is a quick check of the cameras on Thursday to tell me what stands to consider and a quick check of the weather forecast Friday night to narrow it down even further. I love opening morning! Can't wait!

We had a good hunt. We saw 9 doe and 2 bucks. Both 3.5 year old 8s and Ryan was looking for something bigger so he passed them. Bugs are bad right now, going to have to order a thermocell.

Do you mostly hunt out of ground blinds? I mostly hunt ground blinds during youth/disabled season. Allows the kids to move around and can generally get away with more without alarming deer. I do sit in them during bow season if weather is crappy or my kids want to tag along. My problem is my chair is to comfy and I snore

The thermocell is a MUST have when hunting in september!!!! I would rather forget my pants than forget my thermocell when hunting the swamp edge in warm temps. Some of our skeeters are B&C size. Look like damn humming birds flying around LOL

I might go sit the stand Sat. Its going to be warm though so might just try and shoot a Turkey but a slick head wont get a free pass if she shows up. Just don't want to sit around the house. The next week is going to drop the temps in the 50's for highs and 40's for lows so its going to get good quick around here.
