I haven't chance to got out last week until late afternoon yesterday. Got to tree stand 5 pm push 3 does on the way in. Saw a doe and very nice 8 point bucks 70 yards. Would you have shot that 8 if given the chance? Sounds like the stand is in the right spot if your seeing deer! Last year I past a lot of good bucks. This year I will shoot if I think I can mount it. I past couple does for first couple hunt. I plan to kill a doe tomorrow morning if I have chance.

Finally got ahold if them and they are making it right so that's good. I normally don't take it out either I mainly use my stand and sticks but some times it's nice to carry the lighter stand... Front coming in now with high winds and rain then cool and calm on friday... Needless to say I'm off friday

Well guys I haven't been keeping you updated sorry been busy hunting. Lol. Only five days since oct.1st that I haven't been in a stand. Two of them were spent waterfowl hunting. Have seen a few bucks over 100" and 3 so far that were 120-130's. Missed one cause I hit my stand with my bottom limb. Last night had a small 7 come in chasing a doe. I shot the doe quartering away but turned looking back at me. I hit just behind the shoulder but when she ran I could tell it ended up back further and didn't get a pass through. Tracked it with my Daschound a few hundred yards with hardly any blood. We lost the track in some flooded brush in the middle of two swamps/marsh's. Went out today with my waders on and spent about 3 hours searching with no luck. I hate knowing she is dead out there but I know I used all of my resources and put forth my best effort. I have to back to work next week than have another one off. Bucks are starting to chase and if this weather will cooperate its only a matter of time before I have something on the ground. Gotta stay positive.

As my plan I shot a first doe showed up at 7:30am this morning. I have chance to shoot 2 other does but I passed them because I saw a huge buck I have ever see when I hunted or on my trail camera. he was chasing 2 other does about 100 yards I guest he would come my way but he disappeared later. Other buck about 145 inches 80 yards from me. I hunt until 9:30 am. Saw over 10 deer. This is my new spot new tree stand I just setup last Saturday morning, I will come other day when I get North or north west wind to get that big buck. Bucks start to move now,

That's all you can do marsh monster! Give it everything you've got and that's all you can do. Sometimes "we" win, sometimes the deer win. I applaud you for trying as hard as you did to find her. That's the difference between and hunter and a shooter. Congrats on the doe lovehunt! Nice shot too . And yes, like 180 said, tell us more about that buck

Congrats on the doe lovetohunt. I hunted this morning in rain and high winds. Seen nothing but turkeys and squirrels. With the conditions I decided it would be ideal to stalk through the 40 acre corn field south of the woods. Spent two hours methodically creeping row by row and did not see a single deer. This evening I seen one doe just before dark as the wind finally died down. Tomorrow is calm and cool should be a good day in the stand.

I try the same stand this morning ( kill me because I have 3.5 hours sleep the night before and 2.5 hours sleep last night) saw only one big doe and one fawn 20 yards because too much wind, deer stay in timber. This treestand is turner between food and timber. If I want hunt right wind I need to wait until Thursday next week. ( NW wind ) . I don't like hunt on rain because my shoe get wet but I love to hunt in very light rain, it will calm yours scene down. Last 2 year for the my first day hunt I have 2 big bucks and 3 does walked by my treestand under wind. This Saturday rain in morning I think I stay home and hunt in afternoon

I try to self-film when I hunt but it was hard. As yesterday morning I think deer move on north of me but first 2 does walk through south of me, passed my shooting window. she stop at 20 yards when she smelled me. there was couple branches there but it enough space for my arrow go throughs., she run and expire 30 yards away . I didn't have time to move my camcorder. And 15 minute later 3 other does walked by south of me 15 yards at that time I saw very big buck chasing 2 does run 90 yards to 150 yards NW me. I turn on my camcorder but my camcorder mount low it cover by other branches. I think about move my camcorder then I thought I need ready for the shoot he will run through my treestand but he disappeared 5. 10 minute later. He have very very thick and tall rack 10 point typical I think he will make 180 classes.

Sounds like your getting into the big ones now lovehunt! Stay on hem and one of them will give you a shot sooner or later
