Just got news from my sister that they just closed on a new 200 acre farm not far from me that supposedly has some good deer on it. They don't deer hunt so I have the run of the place. Gonna head down tomorrow after work and scout it out and hang a couple cams. She said the previous own said there is an old orchard on the back side that the deer love. That cuaght my attention. Will let ya all know.

Awesome hogster. New ground can be challenging but to me that's 1/2 the fun - figuring it all out! Hopefully your trail cams capture some shooters!

And another 50 pts !!!!! I shot a nice doe last night. She ran less than 20yds and fell over. I went through the heart and both lungs and out the opposite shoulder blade. I lost the arrow but that was amazing to see how cleanly the Montec cut right through. Attachments:

Went out last nite in a tripod set up on the corner of a corn field with the thick woods behind me. Saw 1 doe and heard some more just before dark but it's to thick still on my way out I thought I'd make the small detour to pull a card well when I got about 50 yards from the cam I heard a deer take off so I pulled the card anyway and sure enough there's a pic of me and 8 min before is a nice 135 ish 10 point working the scrape.....

Went around checked out my sisters place after work yesterday. It has some good deer sign on it. Found two fresh scrapes and hung cams on them. Rubs are everywhere and saw some does. Gonna give the cams a good two week soak then pull cards and plan some strategy to hunt it. The orchard has been torn up and the whole farm is covered in persimmon trees that are loaded. all in all we hung 6 cams over it so we should get an idea of whats hanging around.

Been spending some time in a tree.....shot another doe Wednesday morning. Double lunged her and she only went 30 yards. Haven't seen hardly any bucks yet and definitely nothing I'd shoot. Will be waiting on horns now. Hopefully I start seeing some good deer.

Workin on it! Have a few shooters here in michigan and plan to head back down south next weekend and take a 10 day trip the 2nd week of november Sounds like a great season !!! I just got back from my neighbors house and I finally got permission to hunt her property. I can take two does so more meat and another 50pts to hold us until the rut starts. The funny thing is I saw a nice doe in the field on the way to the house. The only buck on the property is a little spike so I don't want him anyways. I am heading to the new house to get my hang on and put it up so I can hunt it tomorrow evening.

We have been hunting a little. Wind conditions haven't been real good for hunting the places we want to hunt that are close enough to hunt after work. My son has a friend who's grandpa owns a bunch a land and he got us permission to hunt. We spent a few evenings looking around and put up a cpl stands on the better spots. Two nights on this camera and this is the first (only so far) buck on the one place. Not too bad, the search continues.
