Just wondering if there is a clear favorite that you guys use that kill big bucks every year?

We use both ladders and hang on's ( sometimes in the same set) but I prefer hang on's. Got my buck this year from a hang on. Got my best buck out of a homemade wooden stand

I use both. More hang ons than ladders now. I’ve killed more deer out of ladder stands.

My #2 and the 6 bucks I killed before 1994 were killed off stands built out of lumber. I don't think I've ever killed a buck out of a hang on but I do have a few set up. I voted ladder

15' ameristep single man ladders here. On sale at wal mart right now just bought 7 for $30 a piece. All we use these days. Tried crawling in one of my old hang ons with screw in steps the other day, got half way up & had enough of that.
Edit-I don't kill big bucks every year tho, more like maybe every 3 lol. Also love good blind set ups if I can see out of them.

If I was hunting giant cottonwoods or big straight trees I'd probably be a hang on guy.

Well I’m a big boy and prefer the ladder stands but I do have one hang on set and like the concealment better just trying to figure out the risk vs reward . Thanks for the answers

I like hang on stands. I like to find a thick cedar, pine or spruce (when up north) to carve a hole out in just big enough for me to fit in. If I don't have at least 3-4 branches on each side of me and below me I feel naked in a tree.

I hunt most of the time out of hang on's and climbing stands. I'm thinking about adding a couple ladder stands though , the problem is in my area it's steep hills and no roads to the areas I usually hunt. Ladder stands will be hard to get into place.

I’ve always been hang hang on guy but some of the newer ladders are really nice to sit in and with the gf wanting to hunt more and more I see myself adding more ladders in the future still find it hard to beat a good hang on in a tree with a ton of cover tho

Rock solid and roomy, I don't care for ladder stands but the ones I have are these and I wouldn't own anything but. My Dad is a big man, 320lbs and I'm 180lb and we hunted out of these and the stand never made a sound or acted like we were even close to pushing the max load. You can catch them on sale at dicks sporting goods for $200. Worth every penny.

I’ll have to keep an eye out for them I picked up a double from sportsman’s guide I’ll have to look at the brand that is a great stand for the money

I don't have any ladder stands. I only use hang ons but I used to use a climber.
