This is a ration I am going to try and mix next week to test. Going to start with 200 pounds and see how they eat it. Should be very similar to Big and J attractant nutritionally and in taste.

dblungem-This may be more to the point of what you are looking for. This is a 160 acre lease me and a friend have. It is surrounded by irrigated corn, milo, soybeans and dryland. Of the 160 acres there is about 40-50 acres of trees, mostly elm, and lots of them are dead. I cleared, sprayed, disked and cleaned about 1-2 acres in the middle of it for a food plot. In late August I planted a biologic seed blend (don't remember which one) but it didn't rain and the turkeys ate all the seed. In early September I planted a combination of Evolved Harvest Throw and Grow, and the Evolved Harvest Shot Plot. The results were very good. Brought in a lot of deer and seems to be holding them this winter plus a few more have shown up, which was my goal. One of the biggest keys to this place working is the water tank I moved in just off of the food plot. This seems to be the preferred water source for almost every animal in the area and they spend a lot of time at or near it. They don't seem to eat much of the protein pellets in my gravity feeder but they browse the plot heavily and the corn feeder keeps them fairly patterned. As you can see by the picture there are 3 houses right next to my food plot (less than 100 yards). I am planning on using the Evolved Harvest Maximize to provide a barrier between me and the houses, but also some late season grain for the turkeys and the deer. The north end of the plot will be Evolved Harvest Pro Graze planted in the spring and then a late summer planting of Evolved Harvest Mega Plot in the middle to match up with the Maximize that should still be standing. My goal with this ground was to put so much food in there that the deer would never have to leave to hunt for groceries. So far it seems to be working and this spring will be much better because the ground is already cleaned and ready to be planted. This is the 149 5/8" 10 point my daughter killed there in early September.
This is the quarter backed out so you can see the surrounding farm ground. And a closer view of what it will look like by next fall.

seth you gotta show me how to do those fancy maps too The way I do it is to build most of it in Google Earth. Then I take a screen shot (ALT+Print Screen) and copy into Paint. There I add all the symbols and labels. Doesn't take too long and looks OK. I also use google earth and love it. I combine that with Planineter (I will have to look up web address and post later) it allows you to drop pins and will give you acres. Very handy since many plots aren't always square. Last time I used google earth I think I could right click image and save just the map, found that better than screenshots. G Earth is also shows elevation changes if you change camera angle, brings a toppo map to life. I can't wait to get out in the plots this spring

That site is acme.com/planimeter/It is very useful for getting acre size of plots or what ever else, uses google maps satellite images which are amazingly scary. I can see deer trails from space, love it!!

I braved the wind and got two standing corn plots mowed down and ready to work this afternoon. Now on to the shumac removal and fertilizing.

Got the corn plots finished up today and clover and alfalfa plots fertilized a month ago. Waiting for soil temps to come up before beans go in the ground, well that and tractor blew a hydro hose I'm trying a few different seeds this year for a variety. Putting out some forage peas and a spring grain. Also trying out some Sudan Sorguhm for a plot screen in a few spots. I will try and keep up on posting and get a few maps and pics posted in near future. Happy Planting

We'll the corn is up and the beans are still not in the ground. Got the ag fields done, so now I can play with the plots again. Has anyone tried Eagle Seed Forage Soybeans? I'm thinking about trying them out next year in a plot or 2 to give them a test run. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
